A privat person's right of data acquisition

A person's right to acquire data on him-/herself is restricted. A private person is granted an extract on him-/herself for a visa, work permit, residence permit, or some other equivalent reason, to be further presented to foreign authorities.

An extract can not be ordered by phone. An extract can be ordered with a free-form application in writing or by using the form designed for the purpose. The application can be sent by mail, fax or e-mail (see instructions on e-mail). You can also fetch the extract personally from the Legal Register Centre, in which case you have to be prepared to prove your identity. You had better sign the application. An application without signature sent by e-mail can be accepted if it contains the applicant's contact data and there is no reason to suspect its authenticity and integrity.

Office hours: 09.00 - 16.15 from Monday to Friday
Telefax: +358 10 36 65783
E-Mail: oikeusrekisterikeskus(a)om.fi
Telephone: +358 10 36 65662 or +358 100 86208

A free-form application is to contain:

  • the orderer's full name, also previous names
  • social security number and place of birth, or in case there is no code, date and place of birth
  • the orderer's mailing address and telephone number, or other contact data
  • the use of the data (for instance: Visa to Canada)
  • date and signature. An application without signature sent by e-mail can be accepted if there is no reason to suspect the authenticity and integrity of the application.

The extract costs 10,00 euros. A bill is enclosed with the extract.
