Labour Court
Location
Since 1984, the Labour Court has operated in the so-called "Marble Palace" situated in Kaivopuisto which is one of the most prestigious areas in Helsinki. The building was designed by Eliel Saarinen and it is one of his last works prior to moving to the United States. Factory owner August Keirkner had the house built for himself to be used as his home and private art gallery. The construction was completed in 1918. When decorating the interior of the house Saarinen was assisted by famous Finnish artists, whose fine work can be seen, inter alia, in the sculptural work of the interior.
